Cowgirls Open Big 12 Play With 98-57 Win At Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team got its conference slate underway on Thursday night with a 98-57 win in front of 4,371 fans inside United Supermarkets Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play, while the Lady Raiders fell to 6-6, 0-1. The win was also OSU's ninth in the last 10 meetings between the two schools.
Senior Kaylee Jensen staked the Cowgirls to a 19-17 first-quarter lead with seven points and seven rebounds. The Genoa, Neb., native would finish the half with 16 points and eight rebounds. She finished with 26 points and 12 points for her 32nd career double-double.
Tech used an OSU scoring drought of 3:30 in the second quarter to pull ahead, 26-21. However, the Cowgirls would close the period on a 15-2 run to lead 36-28 at the break.
The Cowgirls used a 9-0 spurt capped by a Jensen board and putback to build the lead to 17 at 47-30 with 5:49 to go in the third. OSU got a steal and went the length of the floor with freshman Braxtin Miller knocking down a jumper as time expired to extend the Cowgirls' margin to 67-45.
In the fourth, OSU held Tech scoreless for the first four minutes of the quarter to pull away.
Graduate transfer Loryn Goodwin added 20 points, five rebounds and five assists and Miller chipped in with 17 points.
OSU will be back in action on Dec. 31 when it plays host to Kansas State at 2 p.m.
