Cowgirls Put On Impressive Display In Victory Over ULM

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule in impressive fashion on Thursday night, rolling to a 112-58 victory over Louisiana-Monroe in front of 1,686 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls (9-2) set several offensive marks in the victory over the Warhawks (3-8).

OSU's 112 points matched the school's single-game record, which was previously set against Tulsa on Feb. 25, 1978. Additionally, the Cowgirls produced their highest-ever scoring quarter with 35 points in the second period. OSU's 33 points in the third matched their previous mark for points in a quarter.

In the first period, graduate transfer Loryn Goodwin poured in 12 points, including a jumper at the buzzer to stake OSU to a 25-12 lead. Goodwin finished with a game-high 27 points to go with eight assists and seven rebounds in just 24 minutes of action.

The Cowgirls used their 35-point outburst in the second period to pull away.

OSU hit the century mark with 6:51 to go in the game on a layup from freshman Abbie Winchester, marking the first time in program history the Cowgirls have scored 100 points in consecutive games. OSU scored 108 points on Tuesday against USC Upstate.

Freshman Braxtin Miller knocked down six of her nine shot attempts to finish with 14 points, while senior Kaylee Jensen and sophomore Areanna Combs added 11 apiece. Combs also finished with a game-high six steals.

The Cowgirls will return to action on Dec. 28 when they travel to Lubbock, Texas to open Big 12 play against Texas Tech.
