STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team returned to action for the first time since Dec. 8 with a 108-71 win over USC Upstate on Tuesday night in front of 1,830 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls, who improved to 8-2 with the win, produced their first 100-point outing since scoring 103 points against UMass Lowell on Nov. 26, 2013. Additionally, OSU set a single-game school mark for fewest turnovers, finishing with just four miscues.

The Spartans dropped to 3-10 on the year with the loss.

OSU used a 10-0 spurt midway through the first quarter to build a 15-5 lead. Two minutes into the second quarter, the Cowgirls pushed to a 33-19 lead behind two of their season-high 12 3-pointers.

Four different Cowgirls knocked down a trey in the first half and the Cowgirls shot 55 percent overall from the floor to lead 53-38 at the break.

OSU used another 10-0 run to start the third period and start to pull away.
Â
Senior Kaylee Jensen, who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds, opened the fourth with eight consecutive points.
Â
Graduate transfer Loryn Goodwin led all scorers with 23 points and also logged game highs with six assists and four steals to go with seven boards.
Â
Freshman Braxtin Miller added 14 points, while senior Mandy Coleman added 13 and sophomore Areanna Combs had 10.

The Cowgirls will close out non-conference play on Thursday when they host Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m.
