STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State's women's basketball team used a record-setting opening quarter to race past Wichita State on Tuesday, picking up a 91-67 win in front of 1,543 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls improved to 2-0 with the win, while the Shockers dipped to 0-2 on the season.

OSU shot a blistering 72 percent (13-18) from the floor in the first quarter en route to a 33-point period, marking the most points scored by the Cowgirls since the quarter format came to be.

The Cowgirls shot 54 percent in the second stanza and built a 55-33 lead heading into the halftime break and never looked back.

OSU assisted on 19 of its 31 field goals in the contest and finished with three players in double figures.

For the second game in a row, senior Loryn Goodwin led the charge, finishing with 24 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals.
Â
Senior Kaylee Jensen added 19 points, four boards and three steals, while freshman Braxtin Miller chipped in with 13 points on a 5-of-7 shooting effort.

The win marked the 50th consecutive regular season victory at home against non-conference competition for OSU. The Cowgirls will be back in action on Friday when they host UTRGV at 7 p.m.
