Postgame Quotes - OSU vs. NOC Enid
October 26, 2017 | Cowgirl Softball
Head Coach Kenny Gajewski
On the fall season:
"It's a good fall. This game got a little bit out of control today, but I was happy with the way we played today. I'm happy with the way we played all fall. The defense has been really good, our pitching has really improved, the hitting has been pretty good, but I think I'm most proud of our newcomers. We've put a lot on them to get them up to this pace and the speed of our game."
On the upcoming winter:
"Starting tomorrow up to Jan. 28 it's probably the most important time of the whole year. It will define who this team will be. School becomes very important this time of year. It's always an important part of what we're gonna do."
Sydney Pennington
On how she thinks the fall season went:
"It's definitely different than travel ball in high school just because I've struggled a lot here already and I've had to go through that struggle but I think it's making me better. Coach Gajewski always says "Embrace the suck." So I'm trying to get better at that ... it's about finding a way to bounce back."
On staying focused in blowout games:
"It's a little hard but we like to try to keep it fun in the dugout and that's what keeps us engaged during the game."
Logan Simunek
On her reaction to being the potential number one pitcher in the rotation:
"It's definitely a role change because last year Brandi (Needham) was our number one, she was our senior, and I looked up to her a lot, and now I feel like I'm in the role now that I don't look up to anyone else; I'm just myself. "
On what she thought led to her success against NOC Enid:
"Just going out there and not trying to throw as hard as I can. Just relaxing and letting my body do the work because I know what I'm doing I just have to let it do it and not try too hard."
