- The game was the 1,000th men's basketball game in historic Gallagher-Iba Arena. All-time, the Cowboys are 780-220 in the venue, which opened in 1938.
- Each of OSU's five outings have been a one or two possession game in the final five minutes.
- OSU's losing streak is now at six games, and they have also lost 12 straight in Big 12 Conference play.
- Jeffrey Carroll led the Cowboys with a career-high tying 24 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a 4-of-4 mark from 3-point. He has scored at least 20 points in each of the last three games and in four of the last five.
- Jawun Evans returned to form with 20 points and seven assists. It was his 22nd career double-digit game.
- Entering the contest, Leyton Hammonds had missed his last 13 3-point attempts, but he knocked down his opening three from downtown against the Wildcats. Hammonds finished with 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep.
- Phil Forte scored 12 points to move into sole possession of 10th place in OSU history in career scoring. He now has 1,554 career points.
- Forte knocked down three 3-pointers, and is now eight shy of tying Keiton Page for the school record. He now has 291 for his career.
- Brad Underwood played at Kansas State from 1984-86 for the legendary Jack Hartman, and later spent six seasons on the coaching staff under Bob Huggins and Frank Martin.
- The Cowboys hit nine 3-pointers (9-of-14) in the first half, which are the most by an OSU team in the opening half since knocking down 10 against Utah Valley on Nov. 12, 2013.
- The 54 Cowboy points in the opening half are the most allowed by K-State this season.
- The Wildcats increase their lead in the overall series against OSU to 79-52, although the Cowboys still lead 33-25 in Stillwater.
- OSU had won the last four meetings against K-State in Gallagher-Iba Arena before tonight's loss.
- OSU is 10-5 this season when leading at the half. The Cowboys have lost their last four when leading at the half, although that is by a combined 14 points.
- The Cowboys head to the plains of West Texas to take on Texas Tech. Saturday's tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPNU and the Cowboy Radio Network.
