INDIANAPOLIS – Former Oklahoma State cornerback Kevin Peterson participated in the final day of the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine Monday, completing on-field workouts in front of numerous NFL personnel with the nation's best NFL prospects.
Peterson's highest ranking mark of the day was his three cone drill time of 6.94 seconds, which ranked ninth among defensive backs at the event. Additionally, his broad jump (121 inches), vertical jump (35.5 inches) and bench press (14 reps) all ranked among the top 20 marks for defensive backs.
In other drills, Peterson clocked 4.31 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle and 4.66 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Peterson, who was also invited to this year's Senior Bowl, was consistently a lock-down cornerback who started in all four years of his career. He was a 2015 team captain and a first-team All-Big 12 performer who was a central figure in helping OSU limit Baylor's Corey Coleman, TCU's Josh Doctson and Oklahoma's Sterling Shepard all under 100 receiving yards last season.
The Oklahoma native was a first-team All-Big 12 performer who was one of 15 national semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award presented to the nation's top defensive back. He was also a 2015 team captain as voted by his teammates and a four-year letterwinner.
Monday marked the final day of the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine, while the 2016 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 28-30 in Chicago.
