- The victory gives Brad Underwood his first as the head coach of the Cowboys, and the 90th of his career (90-14 career record).
- Jawun Evans lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 34 points, which is his second-best career scoring performance behind only his 42-point outing against Oklahoma. It marks the 28th best scoring performance in school history.
- The Cowboys had a trio of 20-point scorers - Evans, Carroll and Forte - for the first time since Jan. 21, 2009 against Missouri. That night, Obi Muonelo tallied 22 and Byron Eaton and Terrel Harris each had 21.
- The Cowboys tallied 102 points on the night, which is tied for the 30th most in school history are the most by an OSU squad since since a 117-point outing against Mississippi Valley State in 2013.
- Cameron McGriff came off the bench to grab a game-high 13 rebounds. That total is tied for the fifth most by a player off the bench in OSU history, and tied for the 10th most ever by an OSU freshman.
- With 26 points at the half, it was the best first half of Evans' his career and the most in a first half by a Cowboy since Marcus Smart tallied 26 against Memphis on Nov. 19, 2013. It was the fifth 20-plus point game of Evans' career.
- OSU has now won 41 straight home openers at GIA, and 22 straight season openers overall. Oklahoma State is now 84-24 (.778) in season openers in its history.
- Fueled by Evans, OSU closed the first half on a 26-9 run over the final 8:40.
- Phil Forte made his return to the floor after missing 29 games last season due to injury. The redshirt senior racked up 22 points and hit two 3-pointers to bring his career total to 246. He needs just 53 more to tie the OSU career record currently held by Keiton Page.
- Forte's 22 points moves his career total to 1,329, which helped him jump two spots into 20th in Cowboy history. He now trails JamesOn Curry by 34 points for 19th place.
- Jeffrey Carroll also tallied 22 points, which set a new career high for the redshirt junior. His previous career high was 18 against Iowa State last season.
- Several Cowboys made their first career appearances in an OSU uniform; Brandon Averette, Lucas N'Guessan, Lindy Waters, Tyler Underwood, Trey Reeves, Thomas Dziagwa and Cameron McGriff.
- Tonight's attendance of 6,126 is the largest for a season opener since the 2013-14 season.
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 516 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001.
- The win snaps OSU's seven-game losing streak that ended the 2015-16 campaign.
- This was the first ever meeting between the Cowboys and Campbell. OSU is now 2-0 against the Big South Conference.
