• Marcus Smart, Boston Celtics
After an impressive rookie campaign, second-year point guard Marcus Smart impressed analysts and scouts across the league with his play with his performance this preseason with the Boston Celtics. In three preseason games, Smart averaged nine points and 3.3 rebounds a game. Boston opens the regular season on October 28 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
• Tony Allen, Memphis Grizzlies
A defensive expert from his time in the orange and black, Tony Allen anchored the Memphis Grizzlies' strong defense in the push to the Western Conference semifinals in the 2014-2015 season. Although he is known primarily for his work on that end of the court, Allen has continued to improve on the offensive side and his work has shown thus far in the preseason. In four preseason games, Allen averaged seven points, three rebounds and just fewer than two steals a game. Memphis opens the regular season on October 28 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
• James Anderson, Sacramento Kings
After two years away from the NBA, James Anderson signed a multi-year deal with the Sacramento Kings this offseason and has quickly shown he can play solid minutes for the Kings right away. In five preseason games, Anderson has averaged three points and helped tremendously on the defensive end of the court. Sacramento opens the regular season on October 28 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
• Le'Bryan Nash, Japan
A 2015 graduate, Le'Bryan Nash went west across the Pacific Ocean for the Japan-BJ League and quickly earned a starting role with the Fukushima Firebonds. He finished an overtime win against Gunma on October 17 with a career-high 47 points and 10 rebounds. In six games, has averaged 30 points and eight rebounds in 32 minutes of play per game Fukushima plays again on October 24 against the Sendai 89ers
• Anthony Hickey, Poland
Although he wore the orange and play for only one year, Anthony Hickey was an instant hit with teammates and fans in Stillwater last year. Hickey settled in quickly with the Cowboys and has done the same in Poland for Asseco. In four starts, Hickey has led the team in minutes with 32 and has averaged 13 points and three rebounds a game. Asseco plays again on October 31 against Start Lublin.
• Marshall Moses, Turkey
Since his dominant All-Big 12 senior season in which he averaged 14 points and seven rebounds in 2011 for Oklahoma State, Marshall Moses has traveled the world playing basketball. Moses now finds himself in the starting lineup once more with Eskisehir Basket in Turkey. In two games, Moses has averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds in 28 minutes per game. Eskisehir plays again on October 23 against Adanaspor.
